The band Argent came out with a song in the early 70's, which was the song, 'Hold your head up'.

Keyboardist Rod Argent founded this band in 1968. Rod was formally from the band 'The Zombies'.

This song made it to #5 on the U.S. billboard charts in 1972. It was written by Rod Argent and Chris White.

This is my favorite song, from Rod Stewart. I think that it is a very cool classic, because I never get tired of hearing it. It never loses its meaning, and the music is timeless.

Roll With The Changes

During the time, when this song played on the radio for the first time, I was a year away from my 18th birthday, and I was trying to think of a way to escape the small town, that I was forced to live in, when I was a child, who started out, living in a city.
I decided that this song, was kind of like my theme song, for getting out of the stix, and going into the unknown, never again returning, to live in my small home town.
I now live in a city, not the same city, that I started out in, but this city is way cooler, because I live close to the beach, and the weather is mostly warm here, compared to living up north, where the weather is extremely cold, during the winter months. Cold enough, that the town built a skating rink for us, to enjoy for at least, 4 to 5 months, out of the year.
In case you are wondering, I did try to ice skate, but my ankles, weren't made for that sport, so needless to say, I was no Dorothy Hamill, but I did, however master, a cool way of coming to a stop, when I did attempt to skate. I would just head for the closest wall ......... Yeah I know, T.M.I.
It's true, blonds really do have more fun.

Breakfast In America

The band SuperTramp, was a band that you could love or hate. I chose to love it. Their music sounded a bit orchestrated, and a little bit more theatrical, but not enough to sound like some of Queen's music. I found that to be a cool combination of those two different styles of music.
If you ever get the chance, do a search for interviews with Roger Hodgson, I suggest that you make time to do that, if you care to find out, what the true meaning of his songs are. Sometimes, I would like to know, and sometimes, I would rather think, that my interpretation of a song, would be the truer meaning of the song.
The song 'Breakfast In America', was a song that I liked to sing along to, whenever I heard it play on the radio. I took it as being a song about a guy, who is in a relationship, with an American girl, who didn't let him have enough sex. What do you think that song was about? Everythings going to be alright now

This song is one of those songs with cool vocals and cool music. I remember when I first heard it on a 45.
My older brother was lucky enough to make friends with a local ceramics shop owner, who decided to give him a bunch of 45's, and when I say a bunch, I mean stacks and stacks.
This record was played a lot by me. I don't know about you, but I think that my generation was one of the best, when it came to 70's rock music, when compared with 60's rock music.
I hope that I am not starting a generational rock music argument here, but I stand by my thoughts about it. Yes, I know there were some note worthy rock bands in the 60's, but when the 70's rolled in, with the exception of disco, the rock music was unique, bold, and just plain rockin'.

At camp with my mom's side of the family

This song came on the radio when I was at the family owned camp, back on the hill, behind my grandmother's house, by the river. I was sitting outside in a lawn chair listening to the radio looking out toward the Raquette River when this cool Queen song came on the radio, and I was like WOW ... what a cool voice this guy has. It put me in a state of awe. From that point on, I have never heard a singing voice that could top Freddie Mercury's voice ... and yes, I did cry my eyes out when I heard the news that he died. I hope that you enjoy this song as much as I do whenever I hear it.

The magic penny :)

The summer which I first heard this song was back in 1977 ... I only had a few more weeks left of my summer vacation, before the new school year was to begin ... I was 15 years old, just in case you were wondering about that.

I consider this one of the cool things to happen to me when I was a teenager, among other cool things, in which I will be sure to blog about, in the future :) Well anyways, on the night that I first heard this song from the band Boston ... It was already dark outside, and me and three of my friends were walking up the hill from the South Colton Bridge ... I looked down at the side walk and spotted a shiny penny, which was heads up, so of course I picked it up. I then threw it up into the air and shouted, " LET'S PARTY !!! ", and the next thing you know, a truck drives by us at the top of the hill, that had two guys riding in the back of it , and it stopped at Boyce's grocery store.

One of the guys, who was riding in the back of the truck, asked us if we would like to party with them ... his name was Mark and the other guy's name was Bill ... well anyways, needless to say after he asked us if we would like to party, my three friends looked at me with their dropped jaws thinking ( was it a coincidence, or was it my wish on the penny coming true), and I told the guys " yeah we would love to party with you."

My reason for saying yes was that they looked cute and harmless, and that there was four of us and only two of them, and besides, anyone reading this post who comes from, or still lives in, a small town, would understand completely about the pure boredom that sets in, when you live day to day in a small town, where everyone knows your name.

Anyways, with all that small town stuff aside, the guys were from the Norwood-Norfork area, which automatically made them more appealing because I never wanted to date any guy in my classroom ... once or twice I did try to venture there, but it always turned out badly ... but enough about that, and back to the party story ... LOL ... anyways, Mark and Bill were in South Colton to work for the Hutchinsons, who lived down the same road that my best friend lived on, and they had a tent set up in their side yard, a distance from the house, so of course we partied and had fun in and outside of the tent ;) ... some of us got lucky ... some of us didn't, but needless to say, every time I hear the song " More than a feeling ", it takes me back to that time and place ...
