On The Road To Shambala

I am not, what you call, a very religious person, although I do try to live my life peacefully, like a buddhist, but when I first heard the song, 'Shambala" sang by, The Three Dog Night, it hit the right vibe with me.
First of all, it is a song about peace, second of all, these guys really sound good, when they sing together. They knew all about harmonizing, like I know, since I did like 4 years of chorus, when I was in school, starting with elementary chorus, up to my freshman year in high school. Because of the fact that I started smoking around the time, when I was a freshman, I couldn't continue staying in chorus, because I went from a soprano to an alto, and everybody knows that the altos get all the shitty parts of the songs to sing, and I was having none of that!!
I hope that you will take the time to listen to this really cool song, even if you aren't very religious, because you definitely need to check out those bell bottom pants, that the guys are wearing. I know that some of you, probably had a pair or two, of those pants to wear, even if you weren't into disco music.
Of course, there had to be bell bottoms, so that you could look cool, when you were disco dancing ... not!! I remember wearing them one time, when I was about to ride a 10 speed bike, and I had to tuck them inside my socks, and hope that they would'nt come back out, till the bike ride was over, With all that said, I have a question for you to answer in the comment section:

Were you a fan of The Three Dog Night?

Could Have Been A Lady

This song is one of April Wine's finest. I would play this record, and grab anything that sort of resembled a microphone, since I didn't have a real one, and I would start singing and dancing to it. Keeping in mind that I was a young teen at the time, when I was doing that, 13 or 14, if my mind serves me correctly. Not in 1972 though, more like 1974 or 75.

If you have been keeping up with my blogs, you probably figured out that this record, was also in with the bunch of records that my brother got from his friend, who owned a ceramic shop.

This video is a live performance, from 1972. It took me a while to find it, but here it is, in all its glory, for your viewing and listening pleasure. Be sure to watch it in HD.

Breakfast In America

The band SuperTramp, was a band that you could love or hate. I chose to love it. Their music sounded a bit orchestrated, and a little bit more theatrical, but not enough to sound like some of Queen's music. I found that to be a cool combination of those two different styles of music.
If you ever get the chance, do a search for interviews with
Roger Hodgson, I suggest that you make time to do that, if you care to find out, what the true meaning of his songs are. Sometimes, I would like to know, and sometimes, I would rather think, that my interpretation of a song, would be the truer meaning of the song.
The song 'Breakfast In America', was a song that I liked to sing along to, whenever I heard it play on the radio. I took it as being a song about a guy, who is in a relationship, with an American girl, who didn't let him have enough sex. What do you think that song was about? Leave a comment, I would love to know if any of you thought the same thing, as I did.

The rocking side of the Eagles

My oldest brother was, and still is, a big fan of the Eagles. He had friends in high school, who formed a band, which played a lot of their songs.
I have to admit, I don't like all of their songs. Some of them sound like country music, and i'm just not into that kind of music. I like songs that rock.
Rocky Mountain Way, is a song that rocks. I am sure that you will agree, when you play this video.

Live concert on tv

I remember watching this concert on tv, with my best friend Chris, at her house, when I was 16. They had one of those floor model 27 inch colored televisions that were built with wood around them, to make them look fancier, than just a plain looking smaller table top model.
And now, the flat screen tv rules, especially if it is one of those Plasm flat screen tv's, which you can hang up on the wall like a picture frame. Just look how far we have come with our television technology, within the past 30 something years.
