A Theme Song For The True Party Animals

This song is definitely a theme song, for the true Party animals, of the world, which was a hit in the mid 70's, from a band named, Boston.
There were a couple of popular partying places, in my home town, where a small town girl could go to hang out, and drink alcohol, because some of her friends turned 18, a few years before she did, and could buy it for her.

Pop Muzik Was The Beginning Of The Wave 80's Sound

I liked this song, when I first heard it, because it was different from the usual 70's sounding songs. Robin Scott (British), wrote this song as a summing up, of the different styles of pop music, from over a few decades, which were the 50's, 60's, & 70's.
It was, in my opinion, the beginning of the New Wave sound, which stood out more, during the 80's, with mostly European bands, on the American billboard charts, although there were also a few American bands, who sounded retro, which was a lot like the New Wave sound from the UK.

One Of My Favorite Heart Songs

I remember when I first heard this song, I was going through some emotional things, which involved, not getting along very well, with my mom.
I know that when daughters hit a certain age, they will try to assert their independence, toward their mom or their dad, which in my case ended up being toward my mom, because my dad had not been a part of my life, at that time, since he had decided that it would be better for him to move to another state, where a lot of his family lived, back when I was 4 years old.
This song was comforting to me, whenever I heard it play, and I am sure that it had a hand, in helping me to realize, that I would probably be better off, if I lived somewhere else, say a different state maybe, when I turned 18, in about a few years ......

Don't Call Us, We'll Call You

This song was one of Sugar Loaf's top 10 hits. It rose to #9, on the U.S. billboard charts, in 1975.
When I was a teenager, I looked forward to Sundays, because that was when, Casey Kasem's top 40, would air, on our local A.M. radio station, WPDM, which finally acquired an F.M. station, about a year or two, before I went into the Army, and left my home town, for good.
I can't remember, what year it was, when my older brother won the contest from that radio station, where the prize was the top 40 show, which was on a double record album. I use to play it, when he was working at the library, unknown to him, until now.
Incidentally, I am not lucky. I never win anything of significance. Oh well, no matter. I am lucky in love, although I had to wait for it. Yes, good things come to those who wait, or who learn the hard way, like I did. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.
Sometimes, I would have 3 or 4, of my friends at my house, when the top 100, would be on the radio, and we would try to guess, what that weeks #1 song would be. The rule being that you had to guess it, before it got below a certain number.
This video is from a rock show, which consisted of band members from the 70's, who are singing, their top 10, hit songs. I was hoping to find a video, with the original band members singing it live, but unfortunately, I don't think there was a live performance, that was put on film, of that. If I am lucky enough to find it, in the future, I will definitely post it, for you to view.

Sweet Emotion

The first time that I heard this song, when it came out in 1975, I really liked it a lot. The music sounded twangy and soothing. I also thought that the lead singer, looked kind of hot, which is pretty sad, because he is something like 13 years older than me, but I didn't care about the age thing back then, so I hung up a poster of him, on my bedroom wall, along with all the other posters of, other hot looking front men, from other rock bands. I also had a few posters of actors, who I thought were hot looking at that time, which were, Willie Aames and Matt Dillon.
It took me a while to find this full length live video from 1978, so I hope that you will take the time to watch it. I did notice, however, that Steven Tyler, was a bit out of it here and there, but I do understand, that he was dabbling in some killer drugs back then, but aside from that, the song still is cool.

When I was a teen, I would set up my record player, out on our front porch, and I would play a bunch of 45's sometimes, while me and my friends, would be hanging out, at my house. This song was played quite often, because we thought that it was worth playing.
We also thought that the name of this band was cool too.

Roll With The Changes

During the time, when this song played on the radio for the first time, I was a year away from my 18th birthday, and I was trying to think of a way to escape the small town, that I was forced to live in, when I was a child, who started out, living in a city.
I decided that this song, was kind of like my theme song, for getting out of the stix, and going into the unknown, never again returning, to live in my small home town.
I now live in a city, not the same city, that I started out in, but this city is way cooler, because I live close to the beach, and the weather is mostly warm here, compared to living up north, where the weather is extremely cold, during the winter months. Cold enough, that the town built a skating rink for us, to enjoy for at least, 4 to 5 months, out of the year.
In case you are wondering, I did try to ice skate, but my ankles, weren't made for that sport, so needless to say, I was no Dorothy Hamill, but I did, however master, a cool way of coming to a stop, when I did attempt to skate. I would just head for the closest wall ......... Yeah I know, T.M.I.
It's true, blonds really do have more fun.
